Foreword
Photography is not easy. There are too many things to know and practice before you consciously take a photo. Ask an experienced photographer any question and you’re likely to receive a hive of information. You will realize that Photography is really a mind-blowing mix of techniques, theories and art.

Photography education then, is going to be quite a problem. As a member of the MJC Photography Club, you are expected to possess a basic knowledge and understanding of the camera, and more importantly, how to use it. You need to know how to get a proper exposure or capture a sharp image, at the right place and at the right time. Photography is an art, so you must be the artist for it.

But what happens if you don’t know anything?
The Alumni is founded with precisely this goal, to provide a platform for ex-students to return and teach. We come from different backgrounds, some are studying journalism in university, some are working professionals, and some are still even serving the army.

But we all share one thing in common.
We are students of Photography, and have clocked many years of experience in the use of the camera. And with the Alumni, we all share the same purpose, to pass on our experience and knowledge to the Photography Club of MJC. More so, our existence is not simply for function. As a part of the Alumni, we embark on projects and competitions, so that you’ll continue to refine your photography even after you graduate.

Through outings, events and exhibitions, the Alumni doesn’t just train you, but the honoured alumnus who have returned to contribute and relive the Meridian Experience. We are also officially recognized, so it really isn’t hard for us to bring photography to the rest of the student population in the big, blue school. We’re just people with a common goal, and best of all, we’re having it our way. It all sounds very grand, but really, it works. After all, Photography is difficult. We just make it easy.
